This week was pretty bank. We had a lot of work to do and got it done. The people that were going to get baptized didn’t go to church. I understood their roof kind of fell apart at night. They had to fix it and what not during the night and in the morning and couldn’t make it. So I felt like it was more or less legit.

My comp is doing better but he needs socks, so if you want to send him something that would be good. I found 3 pair for 200 which is like 18 dollars kind of pricey but they are the good ones that grandma has sent me. The ones grandma sent me were the best. I have never had holes in them and all the normal dress socks are kind of cruddy because after a little while they started to get holes. His socks that he brought are like sandpaper. Honestly I don’t know what they’re made out of but it’s really ruff. He got a few more blisters and is actually struggling a lot. He thinks that the ward is racist and that they don’t like him because he is from Ecuador. It kind of bugs me because it’s not that it’s just that they know me and I get along with everyone well. He is just kind of in the background, but it’s because he’s new and its normal.  I went through the same thing because when I didn’t know how to speak Spanish I was so lost nobody talked to me, because they doubted if they would be able to talk back.  But he thinks its racism.  I don’t know how he got that idea, because it’s totally false. I’m trying to help him but it’s not going so well. He gets sad some times and walks around droopy a lot, but all and all he’s a great comp and works hard. Hopefully I can help him to have a better attitude, but things are going well.

Mom is going to be a seminary teacher.  That’s pretty cool and dad is in the high council over temple work. Maybe in a few months I can come and give a little presentation about México and the mish if they still do that. That’s pretty cool. Mom says she wants to know what to write me about. Good question. Sometimes I have the same one when I write you guys, so I will just make some random comments. I bought an expo marker this week strait up 100% gringo expo. What a waste of money. It was completely fake I was so mad. I spent like 20 pesos on a expo marker that turned out to be fake! I should have seen that one coming. I noticed later all the differences --the one was just one color the print but real expos have two I think. That was a joke, so don’t be fooled by Mexican’s selling expos.

Oh, so I guess if you want you can send me a package with this stuff or you can do it some other way.  I guess you could send me money but super feet are impossible to find here. Good cheap black sports socks are also hard to find, but possible and expensive Contact solution is expensive but possible. So how ever you guys want to work it.  I could wait on the insoles and just live it out and you guys could send money for the rest or however you would like. I’m pretty sure those insoles run from 80 to 100 bucks –they’re rough. Anyway that’s about all I need for now and all I think I will need for the rest of my mission. I’m doing well. We will baptize this week and the next week and hopefully the week after that too.  Anyway that’s about everything that went on this week.

Thanks for your help and support. Another funny fact-- I gave an investigator Jesus the Christ that I found in the house in Spanish, and he’s going to read it!  He is taking a while to finish his divorce so he likes to read, and he already read the Book of Mormon. Ha-ha pretty cool.

Later, Elder Hendricks
