February 18th 2013

This week was pretty good.  I don’t really have much time to write so I will write fast.

It turns out that the whole free marriage thing was super false but we got them hooked up with some other people so they did get married. It was kind of interesting because the sister didn’t look super excited to get married, but I asked her like 5 times if everything was alright and she told me that it was so whatever.  I guess that's what happens. She also said she received an answer from God that it was right to, but I guess she got cold feet when it came down to it. But things are great and Poulino did get baptized but the marriage cost 500 pesos.

This week has been alright.  I'm done complaining about my comp. We have 2 weeks left so I will just hold out strong. I guess that's what it come down too. Spencer (his friend serving in the Tampico mission) is having a hard time too I guess. I think it’s Mexican culture. Ask Landon. It’s like a culture where they just make fun of each other all day and somehow that is edifying. Anyway that’s how it goes.

Sounds like things are going well at home. Tell Justin thanks for the package it was pretty cool. The other day I was reading somewhere about the talk from Elder Eyring about mountains to climb. I feel like I have had quite a few mountains to climb and I often think about how they say that marriage is like a mission companionship. I hope I will be able to take marriage. Funny story-- the other day we were visiting a less active who is some sort of fortune teller or something and she told me because of the day I was born I shouldn't get married because it was going to lead to failure. That’s hilarious. But honestly I have hardly been able to stand being with the majority of my comps for more that 3 months except for Elders Lopez and Salcido but I was only with them short periods of time. I guess that's what happens but thanks a lot for the support.

Also we had this kid get baptized that just fell into our hands because we thought he was already baptized, but I guess not. The mom came up to us and asked us when we were going to baptize her son so we jumped on the ball, and got him baptized this week it was pretty good deal. Also an 8 year old got baptized but that didn’t count for us.

Pray for me and I will talk to you all next week. I will send some pics.
