This week has been pretty sweet! Its week number 5 and we are moving along here, next week we will find out if we have changes and in 2 weeks I could be writing you from another area. Who knows honestly I would love to stay here for another cycle -- it’s a hard area but I love it! I know everybody and I love the people here. Rumor has it that Presidents going to make a lot of changes this next week because of what happened last Christmas. There where elders sleeping over at members homes as if they where children. It got pretty bad, but this year to save him from tears he's going to make some changes. I have the sneaking suspicion that they are going to send me to Molango Hidalgo! That would be crazy Molango is this place forever away where they always send a piano player and right now the missionaries that are there have 2 transfers together so there will be somebody new there. He always sends piano players because it’s a little branch of the mission and it’s very possible that he could send me out there and I will spend Christmas in the middle of nowhere ha-ha! Anyway we will see what happens. I would also like to stay because it would be cool to have Christmas with a ward that I know. Anyway this week was great we taught 31 lessons and had a killer time doing it. That’s the most lessons I have taught in my whole mission. Hopefully we will see some baptisms coming out of the wood work.
Mom wants to know about my medical condition so here it is......everything’s fine! don’t worry about me this is something I have had for a long time, but I have never paid enough attention or better said it had never hurt enough to call it to my attention.
Today we had an interesting experience. We were walking around in Wal-Mart buying some stuff and I turned around and there was this lady screaming ELDER, ELDER! She had a really strange accent then as she got closer to me she started talking in English and I was kind of taken back. She proceeded to tell me that she was from Nevada and she was a Mormon, but she was talking super fast telling me that she joined the church because she talked with Jesus and Jesus told her to join our church. She met her husband on the internet and he’s from Mexico and he’s a security guard at the airport. He is also a member and they going to get married in the temple in a few months. It was super weird and kind of embarrassing. She told me she doesn’t speak any Spanish and then tried to talk to my companion in Spanish confirming the fact that she doesn’t speak Spanish. It was super funny I about died. Then she took off quick and that about ended the conversation. I don’t really remember very well but I’m pretty sure that not everyone is like that in the United States. If I’m wrong I think I will stay here and live the rest of my life – ha-ha! Anyway that’s like the second person I have seen here that was from the US and out of the 2 that I have seen they’re both Mormon. I guess being Mormon has something to do with world travel.
Anyway sounds like dad is famous now --he made his name into a world known Mormon scholar. That’s pretty neat. It sounds like Parker is doing well, but isn’t focused on getting a job. If he doesn’t work, but gets strait A`s he will get a scholarship and won’t have to pay the money like I did. It’s either sweat of the brow or sweat on the pencil. Either way you get the job done. That’s pretty much the week there’s not much else to say so I will end it here.
Have a good one!
Elder Hendricks
