Letter from Cameron November 12 2012

November 12 2012

This week was great. I am now with Elder Lopez who is my first companion that’s not a Mexican. He is for Guatemala and is super good he just got done with a difficult companion so he’s ready to explode! So that’s great-- I think he is one of the best companions I have had. Elder Lopez is obedient and a hard worker.

It turns out that my camera is not busted it was just out of battery which is kind of weird because the lens was kind of sticking out weirdly but it works great now. I will send some photos to you guys this week.

This week we went to the temple because I had to sign some papers for my visa and we took some pictures. The mission offices are right next to the temple. This week we also baptized. I read about the baptism that you guys had in the ward sounds pretty sweet that people show up, and what not. If we don’t have baptisms right after church nobody comes. And they already have a home teacher for the convert that’s super sweet. One ward in our stake had 6 recorded visits between the relief society and priesthood for all the month of October. Anyway we had a stake conference this week and had all the baptisms together it was sweet we baptized like 8 as a zone.

We are working hard but the new rules make it hard to find new people to teach before we found like 6 news but now we are finding like 2 or maybe 3 because they are all references. It’s kind of difficult but it’s how it should be we can’t have wards with 500 less actives. anyway I’m going to send some pictures I made some salsa this morning with a little rock dish. That’s what they always use to make salsa it’s called "molecajete" in Spanish. It tasted pretty good-- we ate it with eggs and bread and some fried potatoes. Pretty delish! We made it for the family that lives upstairs. That’s the sweet thing about Mexican culture they love talking and being with there friends it’s pretty sweet. Nobody cares about money they just spend spend spend. It’s kind of funny but I love it. We hit up Sam’s club this week to buy some stuff for next week’s barbeque!  I am super stoked. It’s going to be great --I’ll send some pictures it’s supposed to be a thanksgiving type thing.
