Cameron letter July 15th

July 15th

Today we asked permission from president and came back to Pachuca! with my companion who was here with me in my district about 8 months ago. Anyway so we are here reporting and hitting up all the tacos and stuff that we used to do as a district and if we have time we are going to go to a zoo but we will have to see about that. Anyway I didn’t get any letters from anybody but I guess you guys all left on vacation and forgot about your life for a couple days. Anyway hope everybody’s getting a chance to relax! Anyway this week we had a baptism but I don’t have the picture because I forgot my camera. Elder Nelson has the picture I just hope he doesn’t forget because he only has about 4 days left.

This week I threw up again. I don’t know how many times I have thrown up in the mission I think this makes 4 or 5 but I have never gotten sick sick-- just stomach problems. We ate at this one lady’s house and she always makes the same thing chicharone and salsa roja or verde. Oh it was pretty ruff all of us 4 were trying to get it down and Elder Nelson did divisions that day so he didn’t have to eat it hahaha but we all got there and everybody was eating really slow and I couldn’t finish it so I pulled out an old bag of potato chips that I had in my pocket and shoved the rest in the bag when she left the room.

Then Elder Riedreynoso my zone leader asked me why I didn’t tell him that I had the bag earlier! It was pretty ruff on everyone and after everybody got sick even the Mexicans have trouble eating it. My companion was sick to his stomach for like 2 days and that night after eating I couldn’t hold it in I woke up in intense stomach pain and said a prayer asking god to make me throw up because I couldn’t take the pain anymore so I got up went into the bathroom and it all came spewing out but I felt a whole lot better after so that’s good. Anyway Chicharone is basically deep fried pig skin that is that dried out and re-soaked in salsa or something. It has a terrible texture. Anyway that’s kind of a disgusting story.

Anyway here is the deal with my shoes right now I have 2 pairs of Florshiems and one pair of boots.

But this week it has rained almost every day. I am extremely grateful for the boots that we bought because my other shoes have holes in the bottom and are pretty beat up but I’m gonna keep using them until I just walk out of them. One of the problems is I can’t walk in any puddle of water or the shoes soak up the water and it gets my socks all wet. So I have basically converted to using my boots every day. But my other pair of florshiems I only wear on Sundays and so there still in great shape. Anyway we are doing good and working hard and have had a lot of success but this week was pretty ruff with our converts the Lopez Ortiz family wants to get divorced and we went over there last Friday night and it all came out. They didn’t want to talk to the bishop or anything but after bearing testimony about the importance of the family they finally decided to have an interview with him. So they will talk to the bishop about everything tonight and hopefully everything goes alright. But on Friday they were yelling and screaming and I was freaking out because honestly I had never seen anything like that in my whole life. So pray for them and hopefully they will stay together and work out right. Anyway that’s basically what happened this week have a good one and hopefully I will hear from you next week.

I forgot to tell you we had interviews with president this week and we talked. He told me that I was a great missionary and would like to give me the opportunity to be senior comp but right now the mission is just going through a hard time because everybody basically has more than a year and we aren’t getting any new missionaries so he told me basically that I will have to be junior companion another transfer because there is just not room for me to move up and that this transfer 1 missionary is going to arrive from the United States and 0 from Mexico. So there is just no opportunity. But that’s alright I’m good where I am but he basically told me that I have transfers and will be leaving Tulancingo the 24 of July so we will see what happens.

I honestly don’t really care but president wanted me to tell you that because he says that he has mothers calling him asking why there sons aren’t senior companions HAHA! That’s hilarious!

Oh and I made a major purchase! I signed but to have my scriptures bound with leather covers with pictures of christ in front that I picked out and scriptures engraved on the back all in white leather.

It’s some member that’s doing it and it’s something that I have always wanted to have and something that I will keep to remember the mission and all that. It will probably cost all of the money that you guys sent me for my birthday and a little more but they are going to be super sweet.
